Vishal, who made his directorial debut with the Kunal Khemu-starrer, 'Blood Money', was to call the shots for the fourth instalment of the Raaz franchise. While Mahesh Bhatt had penned the first, this version is being written by Vikram Bhatt.
Says Mukesh Bhatt, "There was word about 'The Omen' being remade as part of our Raaz franchise. But we have shelved that project due to technical issues and 'Raaz 4', which will be directed by Vikram Bhatt next year, will have a different story altogether."
While rumours had it that Vishal had started casting for the film in December last year and was now searching for a boy to play the evil incarnate Damien, it has now emerged that the director has moved out of the Bhatt camp and is directing a film titled '3am'. It will have Rannvijay Singh as the lead actor opposite newcomer Anindita Nayar.
Director Vishal Mahadkar says, "Yes, I was supposed to direct the remake of 'The Omen' but the Bhatts have decided to not make that film. Now I am directing another film being produced by Essel Vision and Handprint Pictures. I have already started shooting for it."
