Afreen Zaidi, a teacher from Aurangabad moved district consumer forum last year to file a complaint against the makers of Shah Rukh Khan's 2016 film, Fan

Afreen Zaidi, a teacher from Aurangabad moved district consumer forum last year to file a complaint against the makers of Shah Rukh Khan's 2016 film, Fan. She felt it was unfair on the makers' part to promote the movie with the track Jabra Fan, which was not part of the film.

But her plea was dismissed on the grounds that there was no relation between the complainant and respondent as consumer and service provider. But earlier this month, the Aurangabad circuit bench of the Maharashtra State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission felt that her complaint was justified. The makers, Yash Raj Films, have been asked to compensate with Rs 15,000 to Zaidi - Rs 10,000 for mental harassment and Rs 5,000 as cost of the complaint.
