For someone who thrives on humour, actor Saurabh Shukla's favourite films are rather serious. He tells CS, "Cinema in my head is larger than life. But it is also a part of my day to day life.
Mackenna's Gold: It tells the story of how the lure of gold corrupts a diverse group of people. It is an all-time cult classic film. I love the cowboy setting of the film, it set a pattern for the films to follow.
Sholay: I think most Indians would cite Sholay as one of our favourite films. In fact, I think it was like the Indian version of Mackenna's Gold. The feel of the two films is quite alike.
Aakrosh (1980): Aakrosh has some intense performances that have impacted me. Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri are superb in the film.
The Ten Commandments: A film that traces The Israelites' miraculous exodus from Egypt, I like this film for its outstanding visual effects. Also, it's a religious film that is one of a kind.
The Magnificent Seven: The story about a group of hired gunmen protecting a Mexican village from bandits, I love The Magnificent Seven for its drama and adventure.
