"I'm getting into production; I'm starting my own production company and I'm producing a short film first, which I have written. So let's see how that goes," Saqib said in an interview.
Saqib had also featured in another short film "Koi Dekh Lega" opposite "Masaan" fame Shweta Tripathi which was a part of Y-Films' series of short films titled "Love Shots". Saqib also acted in Y-Films' projects such as "Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge" and "Mere Dad Ki Maruti".
About "Mere Dad Ki Maruti", he said: "There is a 'Maruti' sequel that I'm dying to start. I tremendously like that film of mine. I wish that we make its part two soon. We've been having conversations and figuring out when we can do that."
Saqib will be seen in the Varun Dhawan-John Abraham starrer "Dishoom" as well with his sister Huma Qureshi in "Dobaara" this year.
About returning on to the big screen after playing a skating coach in "Hawaa Hawaai", Saqib said: "I am selective about my work and my last film happened a year back. I'm coming back with two films, a music video and a bunch of other stuff.
"It's exciting, as an actor loves to showcase his/her work. We just don't sit at home, we think about it and try to do something. Things take a while to happen and that's why it took a while, it took about a year... I want to do only those films which I can watch and which I enjoy watching."
He added: "Audiences these days like stories, you give them a good story, they'll watch it. People go to a cinema hall to be entertained - be it by laughing, or by being scared or by crying - people just want to go there and feel that 'we have bought a 300 rupees ticket, it is worth it and the film made me feel something'."
Saqib has also acted in the anthology of short films "Bombay Talkies" - in the short film directed by Karan Johar, and starring Rani Mukerji and Randeep Hooda.
