Sanjay Gupta new film, Miltey Hai story is oddly similar to his life

After remarrying ex-wife Anu, producer-director Sanjay Gupta now wants to produce a film, Miltey Hai whose story sounds oddly similar to his own life.

To be directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is based on a married couple falling out of a marriage and then eventually coming back together.

Gups is known for films that have a healthy doze of thrills and chills but now after his re-marriage, seems to be in the mood of shifting gears." He has now sworn to make at least one romantic film every year.

Cast change

The source further adds, "Initially, the film was to star Madhavan and Vidya Balan in the leading roles but after Maddy walked out of the project citing date issues, Arjun Rampal has stepped in." The film will go on the floors by the year-end, and will be shot all over Mumbai.

Gupta, however, says, " It's true I'm making this film with Meghna called Miltey Hai but it's not based on my life. This movie is actually based on an international play called Double Act, and I've bought the remake rights for it.

The film's one-line synopsis (of a divorced couple falling in love with each other again) is quite close to the story of my life. It's a very funny take on the way relationships are. I always try to look at the humorous side of relationships and that's one of the things that motivated me to make this film. The film will mount sets by year-end at an overseas location. Last week, I shot a promo for the film and it looks fantastic."
