After basking in the success of Chillar Party, the actoru00a0is ensuring that his child artists are doing well
Salman Khan may be the enfant terrible of the film industry. But the guy sure knows how to stay true to his commitments.
Salman Khan is still in touch with the young actors of the film
Unlike other superstar-producers who quickly move on to the next project after completing a film, Salman is still in spirits with his first production Chillar Party.
He is keeping tabs on the kids and their lives, specially the street-kid Irfan Khan, who played the car-wash boy with the dog in the film.
Since Khan is poor, Salman has made sure that the money he got from the film is being used to build a home for Irfan and his family.
A source revealed that since Irfan is the only child who has financial problems among the kids in the film, Salman has been specially concerned about him. "He wanted to make sure the boy used the money to build a house for his family," said the source.
Salman's bonding is great with the other kids too. He regularly inquires about their school, studies, games and other interests," he added.
Still around
This is a refreshing change from the plight of the other slum kids who played pivotal roles in renowned films like Mira Nair's Salaam Bombay and Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire, and have vanished from the scene.
Says co-director Vikas Bahl, "We had conducted auditions for around 1,800 kids in the city. Irfan was one of them. He lived with his family in a one-room home and, from the beginning, we had decided that we would ensure that Irfan used the money he got from the film for his house."
The team wasu00a0 very clear that every kid would get an equal amount of money, would be used constructively by them. Salman made sure of this personally as well."
All the Chillar Party kids have gone back to school and Salman has been in touch with every one of them, added the director.
