Recently there was buzz that Salman Khan's production 'Hero' might have to wait for a release until Bajrangi Bhaijaan featuring the star hits the theatres. Our sources say it won't keep up with its July 3 date as the makers are eyeing a solo release.

Until now, it was supposed to clash with Subhash Kapoor's 'Guddu Rangeela', which now has no competition at the box office. Says a source, "Apart from the desire for a solo release, the makers had to work on certain other aspects. They will now take the film to the theatres only in August or September."

While Hero's director Nikhil Advani remained unavailable for comment, a source close to him confirmed the buzz, adding: "The new date has not been finalised yet."

Hero was earlier supposed to release on February 14, but was postponed as it would have been overshadowed by the cricket World Cup. It will be a remake of Jackie Shroff's 1983 starrer of the same name and mark the launch of star kids Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi.

Subhash is overjoyed about his film getting a solo release by default now.

"With so many films releasing in a year, it's quite rare to get a solo release. I hope it is good for 'Guddu Rangeela', but I am more excited that my film is coming out soon," he says.

'Guddu Rangeela' features Arshad Warsi, Amit Sadh and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles.
