Salman drove down to his sea-facing joint family residence in Galaxy Apartments in Bandra West, a short distance from the scene of the September 28, 2002 accident in which he was found guilty of running over five people, leaving one dead.
He virtually received a hero's welcome as his vehicle approached his home around 8 p.m., where a large number of excited fans, some crying and others screaming, waited to catch a glimpse of their heartthrob.
His personal security detail managed to keep away some women who surrounded Salman's car and whisked him off to his home where his teary-eyed family members waited.
Salman's bail application will come up for hearing on Friday (May 8) before Justice A.M. Thipsay of the Bombay High Court, on the last day before the court closes for a month-long annual summer vacation.
