Days after hurting his ankle at a practice session, Riteish Deshmukh suffers serious injuries to his leg during a celebrity-based cricket match

Days after hurting his ankle at a practice session for Celebrity Cricket League, Riteish Deshmukh, who is the captain of the Mumbai team, is said to have sustained grievous injuries to his leg during a match on Saturday.

A source says, "Riteish was trying to save a boundary and in the process, tripped and injured his ankle and calf badly. It is a serious injury."
The actor was unable to get up and had to be escorted to the pavilion by his teammates. "He was in great pain and keep wincing. The team's physiotherapist immediately attended to him, and he was later taken to his hotel. There he found it difficult to walk and his teammates had to heave him till his room. He might go out of action for a few weeks."
Vikas Kapoor, co-owner of Mumbai Heroes, says, "Despite his injury, Riteish played the game, thereby aggravating it. It (the injury) was initially bad, but now he's on the road to recovery."
