Kapoor agreed with Abdullah who had earlier said that Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) belongs to Pakistan while the state of Jammu and Kashmir belongs to India

The legendary actor, whose ancestors were from Pakistan, got emotional in his tweet and stated,''Farooq Abdhulla ji, Salaam! Totally agree with you, sir. J&K is ours, and PoK is theirs. This is the only way we can solve our problem. Accept it, I am 65 years old and I want to see Pakistan before I die.''

Kapoor added,"I want my children to see their roots.'' Rishi Kapoor's ancestors were from the Lyallpur district of Pakistani Punjab which is present-day Faisalabad. His grandfather, Prithviraj Kapoor, began his acting career in the theatres of Lyallpur and Peshawar. In 1928, he moved to Bombay with a loan from his aunt to join Imperial Films Company and then there was no going back for him.
