A month after the Bombay High Court imposed a ban on horse-drawn carriages, actress Richa Chadda has taken up issue of illegal Victoria rides in her area.

Richa, who shot off a complaint to joint commisioner of police (traffic) BK Upadhyay last week, says, "The government has given them a year to stop the use of such carriages. But my problem is not just that; I see riders forcing horses to run in the middle of the road in Versova. Once I saw this guy controlling two horses and it was scary. He has been offering rides to kids and I shudder to think what will happen if the horse goes out of control. So, I wanted to register a complaint against this."
The actress is yet to get a reply from the cop. "The sight of such carriages was disturbing and I approached an NGO. There, they advised me to write a complaint to the traffic cops. I am still waiting for their reply. I am more concerned about stray horses and hope that these horse-drawn buggies become history soon."
