The ongoing Mumbai schedule of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati was disrupted for at least four hours yesterday after Ranveer Singh injured his head. The actor, who is playing ruthless 13th century emperor Alauddin Khilji in the period drama, was shooting for an action sequence as part of the climax.
A unit hand informs, "Ranveer was so engrossed that he did not realise he had injured his head until the director shouted 'cut'. He started bleeding profusely and after being administered first-aid on set, he was rushed to the nearest hospital." The shoot is underway in Dahisar, the northernmost suburb of Mumbai.
After receiving a couple of stitches on the head, he returned to the set to complete his portions for the day. The actor has been advised rest for a few days, but we doubt if the bundle of energy will comply.
