It was sad news for Motorsport lovers as Gresini Honda rider Marco Simoncelli lost his life at the Malaysian Moto GP at Sepang on Sunday. The rising Italian rider lost control of his bike on the second lap of the circuit and appeared to be hit by Colin Edwards Valentino Rossi as he slid across the track. >>u00a0In 1996, he was the runner-up in the Italian Minimoto Championship.
>>u00a0In 2002, he won the European 125cc title and took part in the 125cc World Championship with the Matteoni Racing team in 2003. In 2004, he won his first Grand Prix at a rain-soaked Jerez.
>>u00a0In 2008, he won his first 250cc race at the Italian GP in Mugello in controversial circumstances when Hector Barbera crashed into him after Simoncelli appeared to try to block him off. Later the same year in October he won the 250cc World Championship after a successful season with Gilera.u00a0
