Priya Prakash Varrier
A day after Priya Prakash Varrier became an overnight sensation owing to her flirtatious expressions in the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi - from the upcoming Malayalam film Oru Adaar Love - the excitement in her voice is palpable.
Having selected the apt occasion of Valentine's Day to promote the film, director Omar Lulu's brief to the newcomer was also fitting. "He told me that people should fall in love after watching this single shot of mine. They should start loving the couple and look forward to more scenes featuring me. He wanted me to look cute. It was a spontaneous shot. We did it in one take," Varrier tells mid-day over a phone call.

While filmmakers usually permit their actors sufficient time to build their chemistry off screen before they display it for reel, Varrier says she was permitted only a brief interaction with co-star Roshan Abdul Rahoof ahead of the shot. The limited communication, she says, helped them enhance their act. "We did get to know each other after the shot, but that scene was followed only by a brief introduction."
