Prateik Babbar with fiance Sanya Sagar
In an industry where real life love stories are celebrated just as much as those on reel, it's surprising that it's taken Prateik Babbar this long to make an official public appearance with fiancé Sanya Sagar. Nonetheless, six months after putting a ring on her, Babbar will walk down the ramp with Sagar at an upcoming fashion week on August 22.
Set to lend their support to a label promoting drag culture in fashion, the duo will walk the ramp for Chola at the curtain raiser of the Lakme Fashion Week. The collection is the brainwave of Sohaya Mishra, who says she wants to "highlight socio-psychological issues prevalent in the country through my [creations]."
Babbar points to the laughable way that Indians treat sexuality as reason behind supporting the culture. "As Indians, we don't talk about our sex and sexuality, which is [treated] like an undercover operation. The brand is attempting to normalise [conversation around] these topics. All forms of creativity, whether in art, fashion or films, can drive change and empower mindsets."
