Peedika? Oops! Magazine gets Deepika Padukone's name wrong, gets trolled
A popular US fashion magazine 'Harper's Bazaar' misspelled Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone's name by calling her 'Peedika Padukone' in a story on Forbes' 2016 list of world's highest-paid actresses.
Deepika Padukone made her debut among the world's top 10 highest paid actresses with earnings of USD 10 million dollars in a list alongside Hollywood heavyweights - Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts and 'Friends' star Jennifer Aniston.
In the article, the author erroneously called Deepika Padukone as 'Peedika Padukone'.
Here's a screenshot:
Twitteratti were quick to notice the typo and trolled the magazine for the error. Some fans of Priyanka Chopra also commented that the error may have occured as Priyanka Chopra, whose name starts with 'P', has gained more popularity in the West than Deepika Padukone.
Here are some reactions:
Deepika Padukone is the only Indian actress and the sole newcomer in Forbes' 2016 list of the 'World's Highest-Paid Actresses', coming in on the 10th spot.
Deepika Padukone will make her Hollywood debut with 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage' in 2017.
