After teasing the fans for the last few days, Akshay Kumar finally released the trailer of his Republic Day offering, 'PadMan' on December 15. The trailer has garnered positive responses from across quarters. On Wednesday, the makers of the film released the first song from the film- 'Aaj Se Teri', which is picturised on Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte. The latter plays his on-screen wife in the film. The song executes the unconditional love Akshay's character has for his wife and can go to any extent to make her happy. For him, his wife's comfort is of utmost importance. The first-time pair- Akshay and Radhika share a sizzling chemistry. Crooned by Arijit Singh, penned by Kausar Munir and music by Amit Trivedi, the soft number will leave a smile on your face.

At the song launch today, the actor shared a funny anecdote about his wife, Twinkle Khanna, producer of the film. He narrated the incident, "There's so much when we go to meet the doctor. The doctor is talking and she takes over the doctor and asks him to listen. She uses these kinds of words that I have seen the doctor getting scared when she talks." Continuing further, Akshay added, " The doctor pleads me to come alone and not get your wife along. It's so scary."

'PadMan' revolves around a man who produces cost-effective sanitary napkins for the naïve women living in the remote areas and educating them about its importance. The film also stars actress Sonam Kapoor in a pivotal role. Inspired by the life of Coimbatore-based Arunachalam Muruganantham, who found a way to make affordable sanitary napkins for women in his village, 'PadMan' is set to release during the Republic Day weekend on January 26, 2018. The film has been written and directed by R. Balki.
In an interview to mid-day as part of the conversation series, Sit with Hitlist, Akshay Kumar had opened up on changing the film's release date from April 13 to Republic Day, 2018. He said, "It stemmed from the fact that a holiday release is an advantageous business proposition."
