After bagging two awards at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival, Nagesh Kukunoor's 'Dhanak' (Rainbow) made its Asian premiere at the Busan International Film Festival 2015 held in South Korea.
The premiere of the film received a warm reception and the audience cheered right through the end credits.
The film has received several distribution queries since the screening at Busan. Drishyam Films feels it is a positive sign as preparations are on in full swing for the film's upcoming India release, slated for January 20, 2016.
Nagesh Kukunoor, director of Dhanak, says, "Dhanak's dream run continues! To be given a chance to screen at Busan is a wonderful honor. March on Chotu and Pari!"
Shiladitya Bora, CEO Drishyam Films: "We are delighted to have the film's Asian premiere at Busan. Busan has a fantastic film market with a diverse and engaging audience presence. We are excited about having received quite a few distribution queries from various territories."
The award-winning film produced by Drishyam Films had its world premiere earlier this year at the prestigious film festival, Berlinale, where it bagged The Grand Prix for the best feature-length film and the Special Mention for the best feature film by The Children's Jury for Generation Kplus.
