With half a dozen Bollywood projects in his kitty, 2017 promises to be a busy year for music composer Pritam Chakraborty. He is especially excited about two upcoming big-banner films - Salman Khan's Tubelight and Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Jagga Jasoos.
Since the former marks director Kabir Khan and Salman's third collaboration post Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Pritam is certain it will do well.

"Anything that Salman does goes on to become big. There is no way a song picturised on him won't be a hit. I am happy I got to do a Kabir-Salman combination again, because their combo always has something different to offer," Pritam says, adding Tubelight stays true to the script in the musical sense. "Its music is deep. I am glad I got to do films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tubelight."
The composer then moves on to discuss work equation with Ranbir, terming Jagga Jasoos a movie that "happens to you once in a lifetime".
"Ranbir is one of the best actors of our country. My music is safe with him. Whenever I do a track, he emotes it so well. He gives life to every song and has the ability to make a number look and sound good."
Ask him which soundtrack he's most hopeful about this year, and he names Jagga Jasoos. "Because it is the biggest challenge I have ever taken on. I am also looking forward to Imtiaz Ali's movie [The Ring] since I am working with him after a long time," he explains.
