"I am keen to work in Rituparno Ghosh and Aparna Sen films. My only regret is I don't know the language. I am ready to give everything to learn (it) and pick up the dialect nuances," she says.u00a0
Talking to PTI on the sidelines of a fashion event here yesterday, the "Saheb, Bibi Aur Gangster" actor says she did not "want to do a half-baked job with someone else mouthing my lines". Mugdha, was the showstopper in young city-based designer Ditiya Roy's show flaunting the 'hath pakha' (hand fan) motif embossed on her gown.
Mugdha says she heard the Aparna Sen's latest release "Goynar Baksho" was doing good business. "I would love to watch the film with subtitles." On Rituparno Ghosh's "Chokher Bali", she says was simply floored by the beautifully crafted period artefacts used in the film which were so typical of Bengal. "I like Chokher Bali because of its period look and I liked Chokher Bali because of Aishwarya Rai."
The Jail actor has two films lined up - "Afra Tafri" and "Oh God! Saare Hain Fraud". Supermodels Carol Gracias, Bhawna Sharma and Rachel Byros sashayed the ramp with pearl-studded outfits in Ditiya Roy's show choreographed by Nayanika Chatterjee.
About the 'hath pakha' motif, Roy says it "was derived from classics like Satyajit Ray's "Charulata" and other timeless Bengali films". The designer will shortly hold another show in Dubai. "'Hath pakha' is coming up as a motif in a fashion designer's show for the first time in the world denoting the sheer elegance and class of the yesteryear Bengali aristocracy," Nayanika says.u00a0
