Whether it's Aye Ganpat or Ibn Batuta, he is a singer with fultoo attitude. A big favourite at concerts both in India and abroad, Mika talks to CS about the songs he loves to sing that make the crowds go wild:
Singh Is Kinng, Singh Is Kinng
This song is a huge hit with Punjabi audiences worldwide. I have to sing this song at least twice at every show. It has a good combination of great music, flavour and attitude.
Aye Ganpat, Shootout at Lokhandwala
This song is full of attitude just like me (laughs). This was one of the first Tapori numbers I sung. But when we heard the final song, we knew we had a chartbuster on our hands. Everyone loves this song as it has a great fun element in it.
Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Balika Vadhu
Whenever I am asked to sing a soft soulful number, I sing this one. It is one of Amit Kumar's finest numbers. I love the lyrics and the romantic feel.
Apni Toh Jaise Taise, Laawaris/ Housefull
I love both the versions. When I got a chance to sing this number for Housefull, I considered myself very lucky as this song was originally sung by my idol, Kishore Kumar. My version is a lot peppier.u00a0
Mittar Pyaare Nu, Gurubani
As a youngster, I used to sing Gurubanis at the gurudwara. This is a Shabad by Guru Gobind Singh, where he conveys a message of God to his followers at a battle. This is a very soulful song and I love it.u00a0
Dunaali, Dunaali
This is a folksy number. In Punjabi, Dunaali means gun. This song inspires the listener and has a hint of madness. Some people are so crazy over this number that they make me sing it at each concert, at least twice.
Hotel California, Eagles
I don't know anyone who doesn't love this song. I grew up listening to it, and love to sing it whenever I get a chance. The groovy element in this number is addictive!
