The Green Corridor initiative is created for fast-pace movement of ambulances carrying harvested organs from one hospital to the other.

Referring to the case in which a 17-year-old's heart was flown from Surat to Mumbai via the Green corridor initiative to save the life of a road accident victim, Manoj shared that "if we don't focus or give priority to organ transfer and to question transfer then it will be very difficult to save even one life".

The case coincides with the film "Traffic" with its crux being the Green corridor system amidst the traffic of Mumbai.

"First of all, let me tell you that I feel sad that a 17-year-old boy has lost his life. But also I feel good that somebody's life has been saved by this young one. The organ donation has been made possible through the Green Corridor initiative," Manoj said in a statement.

"Green corridor initiative is the initiative which is the need of the time. In cities of India, they are completely choked. If we don't focus or give priority to organ transfer and to question transfer then it will be very difficult to save even one life. We have lost so many lives earlier and I am so happy that this initiative has been started by the government," the 47-year-old actor added.

"Traffic" is an emotional thriller based on a road trip from Mumbai to Pune which is based on a true story. The film revolves around transportation of a heart for a heart transplant case, chasing a strict deadline. During the mission they face numerous difficulties with traffic being one of them.

The film also features actors Jimmy Shergill, Divya Dutta and Sachin Khedekar.

Directed by Late Rajesh Pillai, the film has been produced by Deepak Dhar of Endemol India and presented by Foxstar studios.

'Traffic' is set to release on May 6.
