"The film was supposed to go on floors last year, but was postponed when Dhoni suddenly decided to hang up his Test boots. The script had to be reworked to include his retirement. Now, recent developments like India losing their World Cup campaign at the semi final stage preceded by the birth of Dhoni's daughter, Ziva, also need to be incorporated in the script. That is the reason for the delay in starting the film's shoot," says an insider.

A source working on the project confirms that the film's shoot schedule has been pushed ahead. "But we are all positive about the project and Sushant has been working really hard for it. There has been constant delays in the project due to recent developments in Dhoni's personal and professional life. We were supposed to start shooting for the film this month, but now the schedule has been pushed ahead to June. We want to showcase the facts of Dhoni's life in the film and that's the biggest challenge for us. Hence, the delay," adds the source.
The director and the film's spokesperson were not available for comment.
