'M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story' director clears the air on rumours of MS Dhoni having been paid Rs 40 crore for rights to his life story
MS Dhoni
The biopic director dismisses rumours of MS Dhoni having been paid Rs 40 crore for rights to his life story.
"That number sounds ridiculous. I don't think any studio would be dumb enough (to pay so much)," he says.
Neeraj also chose not to discuss how much money the makers coughed up to obtain footage of Captain Cool's World Cup winning six, or Dhoni's manager Arun Pandey's stake in the film. "It's none of my business, actually," he says.
Will Dhoni promote the film though? The director says, "As and when he gets the time. You have to bear in mind that it will appear narcissistic of Dhoni to actively promote the film. As it is, he's feeling awkward about a film being made on him."
Neeraj adds that details about Dhoni's late ex-girlfriend's character in the film is "mere conjecture" as well: "It's an integral part of the story and I don't want to ruin the viewing experience by revealing that bit."
