Dinesh Vijan: Had no idea Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan were dating

There has been a lot of talk about Sara Ali Khan being in a relationship with Kartik Aaryan. While the two of them never made their relationship official, their social media posts and frequent outings made it apparent that they were together. From lunch dates to seeing each other off at airports, the couple's small gestures managed to grab eyeballs.

According to reports, the two started dating while shooting for Imtiaz Ali's film, which is a modern reboot of Love Aaj Kal (2009). During the shoot of this film, which kickstarted in Delhi, many video clips and pictures from the sets surfaced on social media which showed the two enjoying each other's company.

Recently, news had surfaced that Sara and Kartik had called it quits to focus on their individual careers. According to reports, the couple had requested the paparazzi to not click them together. They wanted to be known for their work and not just their romance.

Dinesh Vijan, who is producing the Love Aaj Kal remake opened up on the relationship between Kartik and Sara, and whether the reported breakup will have any effect on it. Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, he said, "I didn't even know Sara and Kartik were dating. They are both strong actors who have the love of the audience, and with Imtiaz Ali, the master of heartbreaks, telling us how love has changed in the last decade, I am confident this film will be a much-awaited 2020 Valentine Day release."

The producer further added, "I remember Sara present at the pooja when we started Love Aaj Kal with her father (Saif Ali Khan). Now she's the leading lady of the sequel. Taking the journey forward with her, Imtiaz and Kartik, with whom I had a hit in Luka Chuppi earlier this year, has been heart-warming."

Apart from Love Aaj Kal 2, Sara is currently shooting with Varun Dhawan for Coolie No 1. Coolie No 1 is the remake of the 1995 film by the same name starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. On the other hand, Kartik has Pati Patni Aur Woh opposite Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar up for release. The actor will also be a part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dostana 2.
