"This (decision) proves that law of the land is still there. The sad thing is that so many people lost their lives and somewhere it is a relief for them, especially the police officers," the 70-year-old said here Wednesday.
"They made a big sacrifice for the country and I believe that it is a big relief for all of us," added the veteran on the sidelines of the Australia Oz Fest here.
Kasab was hanged in a Pune jail Wednesday, five days before the fourth anniversary of the Mumbai terror attack that claimed 166 lives. Nine of his associates, who were killed, had been secretly buried in the city in January 2010.
