Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan
In an industry that thrives on casting coups, it's interesting how the Kapoor sisters - Karisma and Kareena - have never collaborated professionally barring a commercial for a jewellery line. While no script was powerful enough to convince them to share the big screen, fans of Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan will see them in their first live appearance on a public platform next month. The duo is all set to share the stage as they headline a chat at a women's conclave in Mumbai on March 10.
A source says, "Both of them, in their independent ways, have changed the way women are perceived in cinema. So it would only be fitting to have them share their views about Bollywood and women's role in it as part of Women's Day celebration."
As one who was a force to reckon with in the '90s and the other, a superstar today, Karisma and Kareena respectively will bring their experiences to the table. "Karisma will talk about being the first girl from Kapoor family to enter the world of films. She will also broach difficult topics like the casting couch and how she battled the patriarchal mindset of B-Town then. Kareena, on the other hand, will talk about balancing her professional and personal life, and how actresses are changing the rules in Bollywood," adds the source.
