Even in real life, Kangna Ranaut is known to be a chameleon when it comes to her looks. And this one could well be an ultimate test of her patience. After Amitabh Bachchan went through lengthy prosthetics sessions - to portray a progeria patient in Paa, Kangs is up for a similar challenge now.
The lithe actress is going to play a gun-toting gangster in her next and word is that she will be sitting for a 12-hour makeup session daily to get her appearance right!
Directed by Sai Kabir and produced by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the film is set in hinterland India with the actress playing an out-and-out under-the-sun criminal. Apparently the role was earlier offered to Tabu but she was reluctant to play the role. In the end, Kangs made the most of the offer and is ready to go through the grind.
"The make-up artistes will take at least half a day on making her look like someone who is not glamourous at all. However, what's worth noting is that she'll be shooting for five hours on the sets which adds up to 17 hours a day on a daily basis," says a source from the production house.
The make-up wizards on the project have been part of Hollywood films before. It is said that they are already in the country to get a better feel of the exact requirements. The source adds, "Prosthetics is their specialty but it will be a gruelling endeavour, nonetheless. Also, one can't overlook Kangna's waif-thin figure, so the entire experience is bound to get extremely exhaustive by the end of the day. Fortunately, she is mentally prepared to get through what awaits her."
Maya madam?
There's a buzz doing the rounds that Kangna's look in the film is inspired by politician Mayawati.
Though there's no confirmation yet from the makers of the film but given the contrast between the Bollywood actress and the former CM of Uttar Pradesh, the Hollywood makeup artistes certainly have their hands full!u00a0
