"Shooting a double-role movie has become a lot easier now," David Dhawan exclaims as he gets chatting with mid-day after wrapping up the first schedule of his next, Judwaa 2.
For the last two months, the director and his team had been stationed in London to shoot the sequel starring son Varun Dhawan along with Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu.

"There are many vivid memories of the original Judwaa. It was my first film with Salman Khan and also [producer] Sajid Nadiawala. We had a bunch of talented actors like Kader Khan, Satish Shah, Anupam Kher, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha, so it was a tough film to shoot. But it wasn't now," he says with a chuckle.
Working with Varun Dhawan for the second time, after Main Tera Hero (2014), was special, says David Dhawan. "We always have a blast. On set, we don't share a formal equation. He often asks me to relax, but my passion for cinema keeps me going."
Taapsee Pannu says she will remember the London stint as long but fun: "We have finished shooting half the film. The weather was weird; we encountered rain, hail and sunshine, all in one day."
Reminiscing the making of the 1997 film, which kicked off with the Chalti Hai Kya Nau Se Bara song shoot, producer Sajid says Varun was barely seven years old at that time. "Now, 20 years later, he is doing the film," he gushes.
