Sings for an oil ad with Aladin director, Sujoy Ghosh

Though Sujoy Ghosh is presently in London working on the background score of his fantasy film Aladin, the director recently shot for an oil ad with Amitabh Bachchan for which the actor is the brand ambassador.

Interestingly, Big B has also sung the jingle the first time that he has lent his voice to a commercial after singing for several films.

Staying cool

Says Bachchan, "Yes, I think it is the first time that I am singing for an ad."

It has Big B's deep baritone go Thanda Thanda Coolam Coolam. "As it is a coolant for the body and mind, they wanted a jingle that could be a catchphrase." says Sujoy.

The director adds, "Mr Bachchan's energy level is amazing. Even though it is a 45-second commercial, he jammed with the music composers Vishal-Shekhar umpteen times.

He spent hours in the studio providing several inputs on its composition and music."

Big things, small packages

The commercial, conceptualised by Mudra Communications, is for the sachets of the oil.

"But as they say looks can be deceptive and big things come in small packages," adds Sujoy who too is directing a commercial for the first time.

The ad was completed in 15 days including two days of shooting.

"The film is slated for a July release," informs Sujoy, who earlier directed Jhankaar Beats and Home Delivery.
