"It was really overwhelming to walk the red carpet with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. We are hopeful that we get the same response here in India like we got in Cannes and make it to National awards," Jackky told reporters here at the premiere of "Sarbjit" here last night.
The 'F.A.L.T.U' actor was all praise for Aishwarya, saying she is treated like a 'megastar' at Cannes.
"The film got lot of respect at Cannes Film Festival. We know Aishwarya is a huge star in India but when you go to Cannes you realise how big a star she is internationally as well. It is amazing to see that an Indian star is treated like a megastar at Cannes," he said.
The Omung Kumar-helmed film produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Bhushan Kumar, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Sandeep Singh, Jackky Bhagnani and Krishan Kumar, releases tomorrow.
Jackky is both excited and nervous ahead of the big release. "I am very happy as we are getting great response. We are hopeful that everyone will like the film. Nervousness is there as you work hard as an actor and as a producer. You want people to like and appreciate your film."
The film chronicles life of Sarabjit, an Indian convict, who was beaten to death in a Pakistani jail.
His sister Dalbir Kaur played by Aishwarya fought selflessly for several years to get him freedom, until he died.
