Priyanka Chopra is slated to do yet another woman-oriented film. Sources say that PC has finally been selected to play Mary Kom is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film on the Olympic medal winner.u00a0
Sources add that the actress will start prepping for her role in January and the project is expected to go on the floors early next year. A source close to the film says, "Priyanka was in talks with the production house for quite a while now. We were trying to work out her dates and finally things are settled. She is on board to play lead. We intend to begin our workshop with PC and Mary soon."

According to our sources, since the film revolves around Mary, there may be no male lead cast.
Previously, the filmmaker had wanted to cast Priyanka in his Gujarati Romeo-Juliet. The source adds, "But that didn't work out. PC was keen to do this film and Bhansali thinks she will be perfect for Mary's role. They met a couple of times to discuss the script and she finally signed the dotted lines."
Both Priyanka and Bhansali remained unavailable for comment.u00a0
