If the industry grapevine is to be believed, Salman Khan is planning to postpone his home production, Dabangg 3, to Eid 2020. The film is set for a December 20, 2019 release. Ever since In-shaa-Allah, his film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, got shelved, which was to be a festive release, Sallu is hellbent on retaining his Eid date with fans.

For the unversed, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was horrified to see Salman Khan take to social media to make an announcement without telling him. The next day, the filmmaker released a statement saying that Inshallah had not been postponed, but cancelled. Perhaps Sallu did not realise the consequences of the tweet. He thought it was just a way to keep his millions of followers on social media up-to-date about his movies.

At an event, Nadiadwala also stated that the team is working on the script of Kick 2 as well, and it will take over six months, which will be followed by the redrafting and editing. Speculation that Kick 2 will be Sallu's Eid 2020 release gained ground after InshaAllah, the star's film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was shelved.

Dabangg 3 will also star Mahesh Manjrekar's daughter, Saiee, besides Salman Khan as Chulbul Pandey and Sonakshi Sinha as the much-loved Rajjo. Saiee Manjrekar will portray Salman's love interest from his younger days. In fact, reports suggest that the cast and crew of the film have been asked to refrain from carrying mobile phones to keep Saiee Manjrekar's look under wraps. A source also revealed: "There is a no-phone rule on the sets during shoot. Since there are a lot of cast and crew members from the film on set at any given time the effort is to ensure that no one is secretly taking photos of Saiee and trying to leak them out."

Dabangg 3 is a prequel to Dabangg and Dabangg 2, which shines a light on the backstory of Salman Khan's character, Chulbul Pandey. His character will be portrayed as a goon with a heart of gold in a flashback, which will cover his transformation into a Robin Hood cop.
