Irrfan's feline encounter

No, it wasn't Mallika who mauled Irrfan Khan!

Strange things have happened to stars in the line of work but this one takes the cat's whiskers... quite literally! Two days ago, a kitten attackedu00a0 actor Irrfan Khan so badly that a doctor had to be called on the sets!

Irrfan recalls, "I was to shoot for Hissss with Mallika Sherawat at Versova village. Before the shooting, I was doing a photo-shoot for a magazine on the same location.

I love cats, so when I saw a kitten walking around, I picked it up thinking it would make a great picture.

It was barely a few months old and small... imagine my horror and embarrassment when the cat scratched and bit hard when I picked him up! It was so bad that my hand started bleeding."

Irrfan was shocked by the ferocity of the tiny creature. "I've heard that animals in Versova village are very fierce.

I heard about this man who has a rooster and he feeds him booze and non-vegetarian stuff, which has made it very aggressive. It bites anyone who tries to come near it, except its owner."

Coming back to his cat, Irrfan continues, "I didn't realise that this tiny cat could bite so hard! A doctor was called and he gave me an anti-tetanus injections and painkillers.

I didn't let him bandage my hand to maintian continuity for Hissss. Since yesterday, I've been in pain and have got temperature. But the schedule has to be completed."

Irrfan adds that he's still bemused by the cat's fierce behaviour. "I love cats and always have. I even tried to keep a couple of cats in my flat but since I live on the 17th floor and they kept jumping out, I have stopped keeping them."
