The Kaal and soon-to-release Luck director on films that matter...TITANIC: Is my all-time favourite film and James Cameron, one of my favourite directors. His visualisation is singularly unique... he gets into the subject and gives you every detail of that world from costumes, art, direction, technology to entertainment.
SATYA: Ramgopal Varma is someone I got to assist for Bhoot and I love his kind of films. Satya inspired me to become a director how wonderfully Ramu captured realism and also made it into a touching story! I am totally inspired by his techniques of filmmaking. Ramu is a brilliant director and his films have been a learning post for me as well as my favourites.
LAGAAN: It is a film that is in my archives. It is a kind of movie that is made once in a lifetime. It is cinema u2014 its concept and the way it was made all through every department. I can watch it again and again; it gives you power and upliftment.
RANG DE BASANTI: I am Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's biggest fan for thinking and executing this film the way he did. The characters, the concept and the entertainment value is super. There is A R Rahman's music and of course, Aamir Khan being part of both Lagaan and Rang De Basanti puts both these films in my top favourites.
For the fifth position, it is difficult. SATTE PE SATTA, DON, AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY to DEEWAR, ZANJEER, HUM, AGNEEPATH every Amitabh Bachchan movie is my favourite and each of his films inspired me to become a director.
