India feels like second home: Majid Majidi

The acclaimed Iranian director Majid Majidi exclusively spoke to HitList before heading to Goa


Iranian director Majid Majidi arrived in Mumbai yesterday from Tehran and immediately left for Goa to attend a film festival.

Majidi is also in India for the casting and pre-production of his upcoming film. Soon after landing at Mumbai airport, the director enquired about the weather in Goa as he was catching the next flight to the holiday destination.

Majidi has been invited to the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa as the chief guest. The Oscar nominated auteur, will be back in Mumbai after two days. He will be in the city for about 10 days to meet actors for his upcoming film Floating Gardens.

Majidi says, "It feels great to come back to India. I always feel charged and invigorated to come here. It almost feels like a second home. I am looking forward to the IFFI Festival, watching some good films and also working with my Indian producers, Eye Candy Films, and meeting with actors in Mumbai for my next feature film which will be shot in India next year."

Producer Shareen Mantri Kedia who is accompanying Majidi to Goa said, "We are looking forward to try the local cuisine in Goa." u00a0
