The 27-year-old actor, who was last seen in father David Dhawan's action-comedy 'Mai Tera Hero', said he does not want to set a bad example for his young fans. "I will have a lot of apprehensions doing an adult comedy film. I feel my majority fan base are children.
I don't want a frown on their face. "'Student of the Year' and 'Main Tera Hero' have brought a lot of children fans and they have liked me. So, I don't want to disappoint them in that sense," Varun said. Varun would be next seen in 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' opposite Alia Bhatt.
Though Varun plays the titular role in the film, the star likes to call his role an anti-hero. "Humpty is not a hero. He is a character to whom all will identify. In fact, if he goes out to do any heroism, he becomes zero," he said. Varun, who portrays the role of a Delhi boy in the film. said he has become more emotionally connected to the city and wanted the movie's promotions to start with the capital and end here.
The actor's last two films have been hits at the box office, but that does not stop Varun from feeling nervous before the release of 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania'. "There was a lot of nervous but right now I am still at ease with one review of the film out and it is good. But I am the most nervous one, Alia is calmer," Varun said. 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' will hit theatres this Friday.
