What's it about: Tala (Ray) is born to a privileged Palestinian family living in Jordan. She's their resident runaway bride and has a reason for every one of those 'escapes'.
She meets good friend Ali's gal pal Leyla (Sheth), an outspoken Indian Muslim living in Britain. The two connect sooner and far deeper than anyone expected. Until reality and responsibility causes Tala to not follow her heart. Leyla, in the meantime, comes out to her parents.

What's hot: Lisa Ray looks utterly gorgeous and it's difficult to stop staring at her. That said, this has to be one of her more confident roles (as opposed to Bollywood/ Hollywood, which had several other scene-stealers, acting -wise). Sheetal Sheth plays warm yet agressive with flair. The film's a quickie with 120-odd minutes running time. The few jokes range from theu00a0 effortless (Dad: What did I miss?; Leyla: I'm gay; Dad: But I've only been gone two hours) to the forced ('She's what? But some of my best friends are Lebanese').

What's not: The more complex issues at hand get sidestepped here. It's only a love story, nothing more. There's absolutely no conflict, save for a few screams and a shrill outburst. It's basic and thereby, breezy.

What to do: Watch, if only for Ray and the fact that it doesn't insult your intelligence. For the most part.
