Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan
In the first mega clash of 2017, Sanjay Gupta's Hrithik Roshan-starrer Kaabil will battle it out with Shah Rukh Khan's Raees on January 25. In a bid to profit from the Republic Day weekend, producer Rakesh Roshan had first zeroed in on the date while SRK's announcement came a week later.
While papa Roshan wasn't very pleased with the latter's decision, son Hrithik on the other hand, remains unfazed. Reacting to the impending clash for the first time, the star tells hitlist, "Business and friendship should be at their own places. Raees and Kaabil can clash, but my friendship with SRK shouldn't be affected. The films will eventually be judged by the audience and I hope both will be loved."
Refusing to comment on SRK's decision to pick the same release date, Hrithik says, "I don't believe in talking about what should have happened. What can we do if the clash is happening? I can do best for my film and Ritesh (Sidhwani, Raees producer) and SRK will do their best for Raees."
Kaabil's success is important for the actor since his last outing, Mohenjo Daro, did not find favour with the audience. Hrithik confesses his sons, Hridhaan and Hrehaan, weren't impressed by the film either. "But they are excited about Kaabil and want it do well. That's heartening," he adds.
