Lara's raring to know the reactions to her latest film
Lara Dutta has only seen portions of her next release Blue yet. The actress is keenly waiting to see the end result after going deep down into the high seas in what she describes as her most arduous role so far. She flies off to Abu Dhabi for the film's red carpet premiere at the Middle Eastern International Film Festival on October 14 where she will first obtain the response to the project.
Apart from her skinfest in Blue as evident from the promos, there is also buzz about her blooming relationship with tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi. About which she maintains, "There is no change in my status profileu00a0- it remains as it was. There is nothing to clarify when anything happens, I will change my status."
For the moment she'd rather talk Blue, not Bhupathi.
Difficult to shoot
From the bits she has seen of the movie, her response is not a wow but what! "Yes, that was my first reaction. It would take us 10 gruelling days to shoot and there it was for barely four seconds on screen. This film has been extremely difficult to shoot for both the cast and crew. Considering the time spent filming it, I wanted more to be there on screen."
As Lara was not into swimming and water sports at all, it took her six months to prepare for her role of a marine enthusiast who is Sanjay Dutt's ladylove. "Initially, it was like okay thanks but the producers (Asthavinayak) insisted and they packed me off to swimming classes.
Once that was accomplished, my next step was Lakshwadweepu00a0- at Prahlad Kakar's diving institute where I did a scuba diving course. And I thought it was all. But when we actually began shooting, I realised it was even more tough."
Her styling for the film has been done by Rina Dhaka apart from a London-based designer Tara Matthews. "As it is a beachfront film, I have worn accordingly including a bikini." According to her, it is what people wear where the film has been shotu00a0- in the Bahamas and Thailand. "I wouldn't have done it if I was asked to strut around in a two-piece just for effect!"
