Katrina Kaif may be playing the female lead in Tees Maar Khan, but she was not director Farah Khan's first choice for the role. Farah had almost signed Priyanka Chopra to play the wannabe item girl when she realized that Akshay Kumar, who was playing the male lead role, was not comfortable with the idea.
Farah and Akshay talked it out and Akshay made it very clear that he does not share a good equation with Priyanka. Priyanka had made her acting debut with Akshay in Andaz and the two had got along very well. However, rumours of an affair between them began doing the rounds soon after Aitraaz and their problems continued even during Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. When Akshay explained the problem to Farah, she dropped Priyanka and chose Katrina instead. Akshay has had several hits with Kat and had no problem working with her.
