"I don't watch Hindi films at all," confesses Sendhil. Speaking from Los Angeles, he says, "When I am not acting, I am very busy with my family. I have two small kids u2013 Helena (4) and Alex (2) who keep me totally occupied." His wife Olga Sosnovska is a British actress.
Adds Sendhil, "My parents were excited when I told them I was acting with Shabana Azmi. They came on the sets with me on Day One. They were keen to take snapshots with her. My parents are familiar with her work and were keen to meet her. Shabana was extremely generous and that's when I learnt about her accomplishments that spanned decades. Later, I watched her film, Fire."
It's A Wonderful Afterlife releases on May 7. Sendhil will be unable to visit Mumbai around that time. "I begin shooting in Toronto for my new TV show Covert Affairs around that date. I play a CIA agent."
The actor was in Mumbai in January to shoot for Ekta Kapoor's Shor, directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, who earlier directed 99.
"It was a whirlwind four weeks of shooting. I did not have time to move around except the places where we filmed. All these years, Mumbai was just a transit halt en route to Bangalore."
Sendhil will be in Mumbai for the promotions of Shor later this year, though. "Yes, I hope to be back and will be more tuned in to Bollywood and its ways."
