Here's why Sonu Nigam was rushed to Nanavati hospital!

Singer Sonu Nigam was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit [ICU] of Nanavati Hospital as he developed skin allergies after consuming seafood. The star singer took to his Instagram account on Wednesday to share his pictures from the hospital bed. In one picture, the singer was seen with a swollen eye, and in another photo, he looked unconscious with an oxygen mask on his face. The singer-actor was admitted to Nanavati Hospital after acute anti-allergens did not work.

Sonu Nigam was discharged after a two-day stay at the hospital and he shared the story on his Instagram account. He wrote, "Thanks for your concern and love. Now that you know that I am returning back from Jeypore Orissa after managing a concert last night, I now don't mind sharing how I was the day before yesterday. Lesson for all of us, Never ever ever ever take a chance with allergies. Sea food in my case. If Nanavati Hospital wasn't nearby, my trachea would have swollen up further and lead to asphyxiation. Happy and Healthy life to everyone [sic]."

The comment section of this post was filled with 'Get well soon' wishes from his fans. The singer, who has done playback for almost all top actors has now left for a concert in Orissa.

Sonu Nigam has sung in different languages, including Hindi, English and regional. He is one to often reiterate the importance of accepting changing industry trends, Nigam admires the fact that aspiring singers have the freedom to create their own genres, and release their own numbers, an opportunity that he didn't enjoy decades ago
