Heidi Montag files for separation

Heidi Montag filed for legal separation from Spencer Pratt at the Santa Monica courthouse.The 23-year-old reality star cited irreconcilable differences on the separation papers.

TMZ reports, "The legal significance of legal separation is that her earnings will become her separate property from the date of separation... Under the section, 'community assets and debts,' Heidi wrote, 'No such assets or debts.'"
