This is the season for cracked heels. Not only do they look quite unattractive, but they can also be painful. If you have dry skin and love wearing sandals, chances are that your feet resemble a desert right now.
So just put your feet up and give them some TLC !
Put on some cream
Moisturise your feet with a moisturising cream at least twice a day. Even at work you can slip off your shoes and apply the cream. Creams made specifically to heal cracks and patches should be applied 3-5 times a day
Night time care
At night, apply moisturiser and wear socks. If possible, wear socks even during the day. However, that does not apply to open-toed shoes
Soak your feet
Dip your feet in hot water and then scrub them with pumice stone to get rid of the dry skin
Be gentle
If you are treating your feet to pedicure at home, DO NOT use razor blade or scissors to remove the dead skin
Wear comfy shoes
People, who are on their feet for long hours, like sales or hospitality personnel etc, suffer from cracked heels more than those who sit behind a desk all day long. To tackle this, wear thick, but soft soled shoes to give your feet a chance to expand and relax
Try lemon juice
One very simple way to reduce the hardness is to soak your feet in lemon juice for about 10 minutes. Do this regularly till you notice a difference
Daily care
Daily cleansing will help you a lot. After washing, pat your feet dry and then rub in Vaseline with few drops of lemon juice
