When it comes to experimenting with looks, Arjun Rampal can put women to shame. Whoever said that men couldn't do much with their hair, need to get a tip or two from the actor's style book.
From a short ponytail in Om Shanti Om to shoulder-length waves in Rock On, there isn't anything that Arjun hasn't tried. And this time, he's going bald for Ra.One. The style bhai of Bollywood talks to CS about what makes him versatile:
The long of it
The long hair was a hit with my family. My daughters loved it because they could pull it. Personally, I'm happy as long as I have some hair on my head (laughs). It's unfortunate that many actors avoid playing around with their tresses, but that could also be because they don't want to get restricted to certain types of roles because of their look. I like experimenting, it's boring to look like a typical actor.
My baddie strongest
I guess I am very good at playing the bad guyu00a0-- I just have to grow a stubble and tie a ponytail. But I've realised that long hair does limit your career prospects. This is why I am back to sporting short hair once again. You can play all sorts of characters if you have a neutral look.
Getting real
I don't have many style icons and there is no actor in this world that I'd want to look like. But if given a chance, I would like to play a real life character, it would be interesting to see how much I'm able to look like the person. Portraying a defined character would be quite challenging, I should think. I've played a rockstar, a politician, a businessu00a0-- it would be great to do some real-life stuff now.u00a0u00a0u00a0
