Of late, Amitabh Bachchan has started following several Congress leaders on Twitter. Netizens have been quick to take note of it. Tongues have been wagging as the veteran actor was once close to the Gandhi family. After following Rahul Gandhi, he began following P Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal, Ahmed Patel, Ashok Gehlot, Ajay Maken and Jyotiraditya Scindia among others.

Manish Tewari, one of the Congressman followed by the actor, wrote, "Thank you Shri Amitabh Bachchan for following me... we grew up watching first day, first show every new release of yours. Those days in late '70s and early '80s a balcony ticket in Chandigarh was R3. Unbelievable today (sic)."
