Ditches politician's event at last minute despite having a chopper sent for him

Politician Vijay Singh Mohite-Patil had to bear the brunt of Govinda's tardiness. Mohite-Patil had invited the actor to be the chief guest for an event in Solapur.

Chi Chi even committed to being there but simply didn't show up, even at the last minute.

Delay tactics

The source continues, "Govinda was sent an air ticket but he said his timings were clashing with his meetings and other prior commitments. So Mohite-Patil decided to send a chopper to fetch him.

The chopper was ready since noon and two MLAs were sent to accompany the actor. Initially, Govinda kept using delaying tactics saying he was tied up with meetings and would be late.

As the hours ticked by, he even stopped answering their calls. When the politician's aides called Govinda's residence they were told that he had already left."

The event was to start at seven in the evening and it began on time, without waiting for the actor. There were a couple of performances by a Russian troupe.

Govinda maintains, "I was practising an action sequence and ended up hurting myselfu00a0 and couldn't make it to their party."

When asked why he didn't inform his hosts, he adds, "They knew I had injured my back and that the doctor had come to see me."
