Golmaal 3 inspired from Khatta Meetha?

Rohit Shetty may be tightlipped about the plot of Golmaal 3, but that has not stopped rumour mongers from insisting that the film is 'inspired' from the 1978 film Khatta Meetha. Apparently, Rohit has taken the basic premise from the film and given it a completely different treatment. It follows Mithun Chakraborty and Ratna Pathak Shah's characters as they decide to become involved. The interaction between their children is the crux of this comedy.

In Khatta Meetha, directed by Basu Chatterjee, Homi Mistry (Ashok Kumar) is a widower with four sons. Nargis Sethna is a widow with two sons and one daughter. Their common friend Soli suggest they get married, so their children will have parents and they get a bigger house. The two agree, but follows is utter chaos as the children try to adjust to each other.
