If there's one phobia that Akshay Kumar has nursed all his life, it's glossophobia or a fear of public speaking. In recent times, he has been able to overcome it through practice. Just how much, will be evident on December 11 at his son Aarav's school, where he has been invited to speak on the theme of realising one's dreams.
Regular attendee
Akshay just can't stop beaming as he prepares for the big day. A source close to him says, "He has always tried to be the best father possible. Akki's father would attend every school event of his and the actor tries to do the same for his son. He is present at almost every parent-teacher association (PTA) meeting and function in Aarav's school."
It was therefore a matter of immense pride for Akshay when his son's school u00c9cole Mondiale World School invited the actor to talk to the school on his days of struggle and stardom and how to realise one's dreams without compromising on principles.
Proud moment
Adds the source, "This is a proud moment for him. He connects perfectly with youngsters but to speak in front of Aarav and his schoolmates makes Akshay very, very nervous. He has been writing and practising his speech for days. And though he'll be travelling on Dec 11, he's expected back for a day to speak at Aarav's school."
When an event at Aarav's school clashes with Akshay's work schedule he postpones his work to be by his son's side. Now, AK's determination to spend quality time with his son extends to his career as well. 2010-end onwards, he will be talking large chunks of time off just to be with his son. Father and son are already planning their holidays ahead.
